Steller’s Jay: the 10,000th post

Who would have thought that this little project I started the winter after we bought the ranch would have reached such a milestone! The original idea popped into my head thanks to a regular social media post a friend used to make showcasing a bird image they had found online. I thought posting pics of what shows up outside my office window — and occasionally elsewhere here at the ranch — would be a fun use of this domain. Now, ten years later this is the ten-thousandth post here on the site.

Fun side note: this image was supposed to original be published date back in 2024 but for some unknown reason WordPress failed.
