Words of the Day

Since I was in college I have subscribed to the Word of the Day email from Dictionary.com.  It’s the one little bright piece of mass marketing email I like to get each morning.

I don’t usually retain the words it tries to impart.  Take for example Monday’s word: nixie which means a letter or parcel that is undeliverable by the post office because of a faulty or illegible address.

Yet some days I fall in love with a new word and yesterday was such a day.

Campestralof or relating to fields or open country.

Yeah, that’s life at Purgatory.
